Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Gets New Zombies Map

Requiem is headed to Berlin in the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update. Treyarch has released a brand new round-based Zombies map called Mauer der Toten.

The city is overrun with hordes of undead but you'll find yourself at Checkpoint Charlie in the east near the Berlin Wall. You can run from them atop the roofs or through the subways which sport highspeed trains that might trample you if you're not careful. This new map brings with it the highly anticipated return of Mule Kick, a perk from previous games that lets you hold a third weapon.

That's perfect because Mauer der Toten has a new wonder weapon called the Conversion-Ready Binary Repeater-Standard, or CRBR-S. It doesn't really roll off the tongue, but Cerberus certainly does. It's a "fully automatic handgun" that "fires a lethal energy blast." However, you can transform it into a burst-fire weapon and a sniper rifle by way of in-game modifications. You get these mod kits by killing enemies with the CRBR-S.

The next round-based Zombies map in the Dark Aether story arrives at 9PM PT / 12AM ET.

There's also a new character – or rather, a robot – called Klaus. You're tasked with building him. He's said to be an expert in hand-to-hand combat, he's "highly irritable," and he's incredibly durable and strong. However, you are warned not to "hug, handshake, or high-five" him as he has "no concept of human fragility."

Then, there are the two new enemies – the Disciple and the tormentors. They'll surely get in the way when the main quest unlocks at 10 am PT July 15 so be sure to grab some buds and get ready for a few hours of easter egg hunting.

Mule Kick, as per usual, has retroactively been added to the Wunderfizz machine in Die Maschine, Firebase Z, and Outbreak, and it has a few unlock paths. These are as follows:

  • Skill Tier I: Crafted Equipment grants additional equipment if able.
  • Skill Tier II: All enemies have a small chance to drop ammo.
  • Skill Tier III: Stowed weapons slowly refill ammo from stock.
  • Skill Tier IV: 25% chance to keep non-retrievable Equipment when used.
  • Skill Tier V: Third primary weapon is recovered when repurchasing Mule Kick.

Finally, there's some new equipment – the LT53 Kazimir. You can craft it or find it in enemy drops. Deploying it summons a portal that will suck in enemies but if you dive in, you'll be teleported.

Mauer der Toten can be played right now in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
