Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Are Down Right Now [UPDATE]Dalton CooperGame Rant – Feed

Update 8/24: Modern Warfare and Warzone online services have been restored. Original story follows.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its Warzone battle royale are two of the most popular first-person shooter games in the world. Millions of people play both games regularly, at all times of the day, and so whenever the servers go down, people notice. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone servers are down right now across all platforms, with Activision actively investigating the issue.

About 1,000 people have reported issues with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s online multiplayer on the Down Detector site, though it seems as though the problem may be getting better, at least for some players. There are those who still stay that they can’t connect to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s online multiplayer servers, but others have reported that simply restarting the game allowed them to get back into the action.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone server issues are no doubt frustrating, regardless of their scale, but it’s worth pointing out that things like this are a relatively rare occurrence. It’s not often that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone servers go down, and it’s unlikely that they will be down for too much longer. Considering this, fans should be able to jump back into the game shortly.

While the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare servers being down will be a distraction, fans of the franchise otherwise have a big week to look forward to. Today Activision will preview the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update and everything it will entail, and then on Tuesday, August 25, the update will go live, likely changing up the playlists in both Modern Warfare and Warzone, and maybe adding some new content as well.

Then finally, on Wednesday, August 26, fans will get their first proper look at Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The long-rumored game is finally going to have its world premiere on that day, which should give fans their first-ever look at gameplay. And if they’re lucky, maybe the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta details and release date will be announced at that point as well.

Meanwhile, here’s hoping Activision can resolve the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare online connectivity issues for all players sooner rather than later, so Modern Warfare fans can work on completing their Season 5 Battle Pass while they look forward to the next set of updates that are on the way.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
