Call of Duty: Vanguard will have quite the multiplayer offering at launch with 20 base maps, new modes like Patrol and Champion Hill, and several returning features like Gunsmith. However, it also features some nods to previous World War 2 titles, namely Call of Duty: World at War. In a new blog post, Sledgehammer Games confirmed that Castle and Dome from the 2008 shooter will be coming to Vanguard.

Describing these as “love letters” for fans of World at War, both maps will “receive changes through reactive environments. Castle, in its Vanguard form, will see all its iconic shoji screens become destructible.” But that’s not all. Though it wasn’t mentioned during the recent stream, senior development director Adam Iscove revealed on Twitter that console players would be able to adjust the field of view.

Tweeting the news in a screenshot, which showcased PlayStation button prompts in the Graphics menu settings, there’s no confirmation as to whether this is current-gen exclusive or applies to previous gen consoles as well. Nevertheless, it’s good to see an eagerly requested feature added in.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launches on November 5th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Its multiplayer beta will start this weekend from September 10th to 13th for PlayStation pre-orders while other platform pre-orders gain access on September 16th to 20th.
