Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Skin Competition Launched By Valve

In celebration of the Steam Workshop's tenth anniversary, Valve is launching a competition to commemorate the creators. Ten people are up for a chance of winning $100,000 while also getting their CS:GO skins added to the game.

"We launched the Workshop on Steam almost 10 years ago in the hopes of creating a centralized hub for community-created content," Valve opened, "Since then, over five million content creators have submitted and published over 20 million new items for a variety of games on Steam, making them available for purchase to millions of games around the world.

"And, as everyone who plays the game knows – including CS players – many of the most iconic in-game items, maps, and more have been authored by members of the community. The Dreams & Nightmares Content Contest is designed to help further support this community."

There's a prize pool of $1,000,000 to be split among 10 creators who submit their work for the contest. It's running until the middle of October so be sure to submit if you think you stand a chance of winning.

The caveat is that it has to be a nightmare or dream-themed weapon skin hence the name of the competition.

What's more, if you win and your skin does get added to the game, you retain the rights. "By submitting an entry, you give us non-exclusive license for the artwork to use in CS:GO," Valve explained, "You keep the rights. Past artists have licensed their successful CS:GO artwork elsewhere."

To be eligible, you need to have a Steam account where you have spent at least $5.

Submissions go live tomorrow, July 22, and end on October 21.
