Last week, CD Projekt RED were hit with two class action lawsuits following the debacle of Cyberpunk 2077’s botched console launch, with allegations that the developer “made false and misleading statements to the market”, leading to losses for the company’s investors.
CD Projekt have now issued a response via a regulatory announcement on their website, in which they confirm the legal action in question. It’s a standard regulatory announcement, but the developer ends it by saying that it will “undertake vigorous action to defend itself against any such claims.”
While Cyberpunk 2077 has enjoyed strong sales and positive reviews from critics for its PC version, the game’s console versions have been criticized widely for crippling technical issues, with many stating that CD Projekt RED website before the game’s launch as to its state on last-gen hardware.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. CD Projekt RED recently confirmed that its first expansion will launch in early 2021.
