Destiny 2 Witch Queen Collector’s Edition Comes With Real Life Hive Ghost

During a livestream, Bungie revealed a lot of exciting information about the upcoming expansion for Destiny 2. It also took the opportunity to share details of the fascinating goodies that will be a part of collector’s edition of the expansion.

Titled Witch Queen, the new Destiny 2 expansion is scheduled to launch next year on February 22. The story will be centered around the Guardian’s conflict with Savathun, who possesses the ability to revive fallen guardians using Hive Ghosts.

There is a lot on offer, but the main attraction of the collector’s edition is the extremely detailed replica of the Hive Ghost from the reveal trailer of Witch Queen. Other notable items included the Psychometer Replica with lights and sounds, The Hidden ID badge, Lenticular Reveal Card, and the digital soundtrack. The store page features a mysterious message that states that players can use the Psychometer to “experiment with artifacts to gather evidence and unlock clues…” Overall, there are a lot of exciting physical and digital goodies available in this edition.

Destiny 2 fans can also choose to order a collector’s edition that does not include the game, should they wish to get Witch Queen separately. None of the editions come with a physical disc, and instead ship with a game code for that platform. The collector’s edition retails for $249.99, or $150 without the game code. As expected, it includes the deluxe version plus Bungie 30th Anniversary Bundle of Witch Queen, which is available separately for the a price of $99.99.

The expansions for Destiny 2 have gotten extremely impressive collector’s editions. Customers who purchased the collector’s edition for Destiny 2: Beyond Light received a light-up Splinter of Darkness replica and a Europa-themed bag, among other notable collector’s items. So, it comes as no surprise to see Witch Queen get the same treatment. While the cost seems to be on the high side, Bungie does put a lot of effort into making the collector’s editions worth the asking price. Giving players the option to purchase all of the items without the game, thereby reducing the price, is also a commendable idea.

These collector’s editions are extremely limited and fans will have to be patient if they hope to purchase one. At the time of this writing, the official pre-order page says that there are over 7000 people already in the queue. Anyone who has gone through the painful task of purchasing a next-generation console knows how difficult the process can be.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
