Diablo II and its legacy as one of the greatest action RPGs ever made keep fans returning to both its single-player and multiplayer content, even 20 years later.
Numerous mods have been made for the game, and a recent one is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a new spin on its classic gameplay.
The new “Leoric’s Castle” mod re-introduces the classic Cathedral dungeon found within the original Diablo, only with a greater focus on multiplayer and boss-rush like progression.
You can play with or against other players, in free-for-all, four on four, or some kind of variation in between. You can find more about the mod over on its official site.
The mod creators say its a mix of speedrunning, and PVP. It’s even supposed to take place after the events of Diablo and before the events of Diablo II.
Players will be able to fight iconic bosses like The Butcher, Archbishop Lazarus, a Balrog, Gharbad, the Black Knight, Etrigran, and lastly – King Leoric himself. As you progress you can upgrade your gear with gold.
