Dr Disrespect Partnering With "Mega Influencers" To Launch New Studio

Dr Disrespect appears to be hiring for his very own game studio, one that will team up with influencers to help curate and create their dream games.

It has been a funny old year for Dr Disrespect. The instantly recognizable streamer was inexplicably banned from Twitch a little over 12 months ago, seemingly never to return. There have even been reports those still affiliated with Twitch aren't allowed to play with him, and someone even appeared to be punished for planning to cosplay Disrespect during a Twitch tournament.

Dr Disrespect hasn't dropped out of the spotlight completely, though. Far from it. He has continued to stream on YouTube and now appears to be planning on opening his very own development studio. Disrespect has posted a job listing for a gaming studio head on ChampionsClubGG. He will be working with BoomTV and starting a studio that will create triple-A games with the help of “mega influencers”.

Mega influencers likely refers to streamers similar to himself. Those who play games and have massive audiences, whether those audiences be on Twitch, YouTube, or otherwise. Disrespect's new studio is only advertising for the title above so far, suggesting the idea is in its very early stages. However, if all goes to plan, it will be fascinating to see what types of games come out of his new studio.

Disrespect actually has some pretty high-level experience in game development. Prior to becoming an online personality, Guy Beahm, the man behind the sunglasses and mustache, was a level designer for Call of Duty. As for what a so-called mega influencer will come up with in terms of their dream game, it remains to be seen whether that sort of title would appeal to mainstream gamers.

You only need to watch a popular streamer playing something like Apex Legends or Fortnite for a few matches to discover what they don't like about those games and what it is they would change. While influencers have aided in the creation of games like Valorant in the past, being given more control over the final product may result in a title that is geared towards professional gamers rather than the masses. Then again, perhaps that is the end result Disrespect is aiming for via his new project.
