Dr Disrespect Wants To Join Netflix’s Gaming Initiative

Dr Disrespect has expressed a desire to join Netflix's gaming initiative, saying, "I could be the head of the Netflix streaming platform".

It was reported earlier this month that Netflix is looking to get into game streaming, before being confirmed by Netflix itself. Netflix has stated that it is starting with mobile games, although it is assumed that it'll eventually move on to home consoles.

As reported by Dexerto, Dr Disrespect mentioned Netflix's foray into gaming during his stream on July 29 and showed an interest in getting involved. The conversation was started when a viewer donated money and said that they'd love to see Dr Disrespect and Z work together to kick off Netflix streaming.

Following this Dr Disrespect said, "I would be open to taking a seat at Netflix. I’m willing to sit down at the table. Black suit, black tie. Hair in a ponytail. Prototypes stay on, of course. I could be the head of the Netflix streaming platform. I’d help them put together the most interactive, dominating streaming platform. With the power of Netflix, imagine what you could offer too."

The streamer later continued to talk about the subject and the strategy Netflix needs to take, saying, "There’s Hulu, Amazon, these digital platforms that are streaming video now. So Netflix really has to get in [to streaming] to stay ahead. They’re still the leader, they have the brand and images, and now’s the time to build on those. That’s what will separate you, Netflix, from all the others. There’s a big chance here. I’m just talking now, throwing stuff out, but think about it. Think about it.”

Although Dr Disrespect is known for staying in character and generally joking about a lot of what he says, when talking about teaming up with Netflix he seemed sincere, or at least seemed willing to think about it. His ideas for the streaming platform didn't just apply to gaming either, as he suggested several ideas that would allow streamers to interact through movies and TV.
