Everspace 2 demo out today

Everspace 2

Fans of space shooters and RPG looters are in for a treat today. A surprise demo for Everspace 2 is now available on Steam. Plus, we have an early look at the next update, Khaït Nebula.

Following a huge upgrade to the Everspace 2 Early Access edition, Rockfish Games announced today the release of a brand-new demo that represents much of the polish that has gone into the game since last year’s prototype build.

Everspace 2 continues Adam Roslin’s tale from the first installment. In an open-world action RPG, players witness Adam’s emotional journey and psychological evolution. He goes from an immortal clone space pilot to an individual figure whose death has definitive repercussions, beginning with two enormous star systems that may be freely explored by space pilots.

The demo, which is now available on Steam, allows players to see a major chunk of Everspace 2‘s first star system before deciding whether to dive headfirst into an action-packed space shooter RPG set in a meticulously handcrafted, pseudo-open game environment.

“As said many times before, we have a super strong vision about the game our team is passionate about making, and we’re fully committed to the promises we made in our Kickstarter campaign,” said Michael Schade, CEO and co-founder of Rockfish Games.

“Hence, we’ve decided to release a new demo that is 100% based on the most recent Early Access version so that every space pilot on the fence about pulling the trigger can check out our work without any strings attached,” he added.

A sneak peek into Khaït Nebula

Early Access pilots will encounter new and familiar alien life forms in the fourth star system. Pilots who played the early Everspace 2 prototype may look forward to the return of the popular Shadow Creatures, whose mating rituals need a little assistance, for which they will express their thanks by dropping precious resources for the player if the story ends well.

A variety of space stations and unusual places await in the Khait Nebula, where classic gameplay features are mixed with new ones to provide fresh challenges to expert pilots while not entirely overwhelming less experienced players.

Everspace 2 is available for purchase on Steam with a free demo available right now. It’s also on GOG. The full version for PC, including Mac and native Linux compatibility, will be available in late 2022 at a little higher price.
