At this point, Fortnite is good for at least one officially licensed comic-related skin from both DC and Marvel a month. In June, Fortnite players saw the arrival of Deathstroke Zero, Rebirth Harley Quinn, and Thanos. In July, the trend continued when Armored Batman Zero and Loki joined the party. This month is already on pace for more than that as fans have already seen the arrival of both Bloodsport and Gamora. With the advent of Bloodsport, DC puts itself at a total of 20 in-game skins—more or less, depending on if you count Superman as distinct from Clark Kent—and Gamora puts Marvel at 31.
Tomorrow, fans will be able to get their hands on the latest superhero skin as Wonder Woman joins Fortnite, putting the total of DC and Marvel releases for August already at 4, with only half of the month elapsed, suggesting that August could end as one of the most prolific months in terms of superhero skins in quite a while. With the new Wonder Woman skin, the total Marvel and DC characters will hit an impressive milestone as it hits a total of 51 different skins (with some characters, like Batman, having multiple).

So far in Fortnite, DC has leaned fairly heavily on their poster child, Batman. In fact, the Caped Crusader boasts the most skins for a single character with a total of 4, followed by Marvel's Deadpool who has 3 skins with the inclusion of Cuddlepool and Ravenpool. Oddly enough, DC has yet to really dive deep into Batman's rogues gallery, instead opting to stick with more recent big-screen villains like The Joker and Harley Quinn. Still, with DC already placing heavy emphasis on Batman himself, it's likely that fans will inevitably see the inclusion of beloved villains like Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, or even lesser-known characters like Clayface.
DC's current in-game skins are:
- Aquaman
- Armored Batman Zero
- Batman Comic Book Outfit
- Batman Zero
- Beast Boy
- Black Manta
- Bloodsport
- Catwoman Comic Book Outfit
- Catwoman Zero
- Clark Kent (Superman)
- Deathstroke
- Green Arrow
- Harley Quinn
- Poison Ivy
- Rebirth Harley Quinn
- Rebirth Raven
- The Dark Knight Movie Batman
- The Flash
- The Joker
- Wonder Woman
In contrast to DC, Marvel has managed to spread the love to a ton of different characters. There also seems to be a distinct focus on heroes rather than villains, with only a handful of clear-cut villains on the list like Thanos, Venom, Doctor Doom, and Taskmaster (Loki has strayed from this definition with recent releases). Perhaps the most conspicuous omission from the list of current in-game characters is Spider-Man. He is arguably the most recognizable hero in Marvel comics, but has yet to see an official Fortnite release, despite a rumor popping up last year about Spidey's inclusion. Of course, Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be another sure thing, as he is the only core member that has yet to make it into the game.
Marvel's current in-game skins are:
- Ant-Man
- Black Panther
- Black Widow (Snow Suit)
- Black Widow Outfit
- Blade
- Cable
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Cuddlepool
- Daredevil
- Deadpool
- Doctor Doom
- Domino
- Gamora
- Ghost Rider
- Groot
- Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk)
- Loki Laufeyson
- Mystique
- Psylocke
- Ravenpool
- Silver Surfer
- Star-Lord Outfit
- Storm
- Taskmaster
- Thanos
- Thor
- Tony Stark (Iron Man)
- Venom
- Wolverine
With regards to future releases, expect both companies to rely on their big-screen offerings, with skins from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings probably being a safe bet, as well as Carnage once the forthcoming Venom: Let There Be Carnage movie is released. For DC, a Black Adam skin would certainly be a way to show love to a lesser-known character, but a fifth Batman skin might be in order with the release of The Batman.
