Evil Genius 2 Is Coming To Consoles

The most diabolical of games is coming to consoles. Just announced during ID@Xbox, UK-based Rebellion Developments revealed their villain simulator is set to make the jump from PC to consoles later this year.

Evil Genius 2 has you play as the titular evil genius (which comes in several different flavors) as you construct your villainous lair on a tropical island. You'll then secretly build a doomsday device that will ultimately get discovered by the world's security forces who will send secret agents to try to stop you. In order to stop them, you'll need to turn your lair into a literal death trap with the help of your evil minions and henchmen.

The game also features the option to turn your tropical island into a tourist resort that’s a front for your criminal enterprises. You also get to steal from tourists, which is always fun.

Evil Genius 2 launched on Steam earlier this year to rave reviews. Helen loved it when she played it, giving it five stars. ”If you love building games, creating elaborate strings of traps, playing the bad guy, and generally living your best island life scamming tourists," wrote Helen, "Evil Genius 2 is for you.”

You’ll be able to get your evil genius on in Q4 2021 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and on Xbox Game Pass. We’ll be sure to provide a specific date once Rebellion announces it.

And if you've already got Evil Genius 2 on PC, the Rise of the Valkyrie Pack is now available and adds Doomhilda, the opera singing henchwoman. Her ability to sing really loud to inspire allies and stun enemies makes her a worthy addition to the team. Alongside the Valkyrie Pack, Rebellion also added the Pyro from Team Fortress 2. As you'd expect, the Pyro is all about starting fires, but he can also extinguish fires with a puff of compressed air.

The Pyro is available as a free download while The Valkyrie Pack is available for $5. No word on whether you'll get these henchmen as a free bonus on the console version, but here’s hoping.
