Square Enix’s critically acclaimed MMO Final Fantasy 14 is now available on PS5, albeit in open beta form. The beta allows all current PS4 players to download a free update to carry over all of their content to the PS5 version. New players can access the free trial which provides access to the base game and Heavensward with a level cap of 60.
Along with 4K resolution, DualSense support and improved loading times, the PS5 version also offers a cleaner UI for players to navigate. Depending on the open beta’s progress, official service could go live as soon as it ends. Players will be able to transfer their data over if this happens.
For non-PS5 players, patch 5.5 “Death Unto Dawn – Part 1“ is also live. It offers new Main Scenario quests, setting up the story heading into the Endwalker expansion in Fall. A new dungeon, Paglth’an, is also available along with The Sorrow of Werlyt Trial where players will battle the VIIth Legion’s new Weapon. You can also expect the next part in the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse raid to be live.
