Final Fantasy 14’s Moonfire Faire Is Back Next Week

Eorzeans will once again hit the beach this summer as Final Fantasy 14 welcomes the Moonfire Faire back to Costa Del Sol. This year's celebration includes a new mount, housing items, and food that you can grab starting August 13 through August 26.

For those new to the realm, every year, Final Fantasy 14 celebrates sunny weather and beach vibes on the shores of Costa Del Sol. If you've ever seen a catgirl sporting a bikini in a dungeon, chances are she grabbed the glamor set from the Moonfire Faire. It looks like this year's celebrations won't include new swimsuits, but there are still plenty of goodies to enjoy.

You'll start the quest, Unseasonable Chills, in Limsa Lominsa at the usual spot on the Upper Decks (x:11.5, y:13.8). Chat with a nearby Lalafell Mayaru Moyaru and they'll loop you in on how to get the beachball rolling for 2021's event. These quest chains aren't typically very long, and typically just involve chatting with a few NPCs or completing a Fate. Carve out 20-30 minutes of your day, and you should be set.

For your hard work hanging out on the beach, you can pick up the brand new Polar Bear Mount, Moonfire Mask Stalling, Costa del Hielo, and Grilled Corn. Why is there a Polar Bear on the beach? Who knows for now, but I reckon we'll find out what bizarre quest chain Square Enix is sending us on soon.

As Final Fantasy 14 prepares for its Endwalker expansion in November, the Square Enix and its dedicated community of players continue to keep things busy. The game has seen its busiest time period yet, and version 6.0's pre-orders increased over 160 percent from Shadowbringers. The popularity has sent Final Fantasy 14's servers into a bit of a chaotic few weeks, but director and producer Naoki Yoshida promises that Square Enix is dealing with it.

And for those of us who can't just stop with exploring Eorzea in-game, there's still plenty to indulge in. The game just launched pre-orders for its own cookbook, which you can get your hands on shortly before Endwalker on November 9.
