Fortnite Copies From Among Us’ Homework With New ‘Impostors’ Mode

Fortnite has never shied away from its pop culture references (and stealing things from other creators) so it's not hugely surprising that their new mode, Fortnite Impostors, does a little bit of both.

The mode is… well, it's very similar to Among Us: up to ten players are assigned either an Agent or Impostor role, with the Agents having to complete assignments to keep The Bridge running, and Impostors trying to win by sabotaging assignments, teleporting players, and manipulating people into thinking they're Agents, too. Impostors can even complete assignments to look less suspicious.

Of course, voice chat is disabled, but there's still text chat, which will let you communicate in emotes or by using the Quick Chat menu, and you can either play with just friends in Private or Friends Only, or join a full party in Public.

Oh, and if you figure out who the Impostors are? You just call an emergency meeting — er, "Force a Discussion", by either reporting a dead body or pressing the "Discussion" mode in the central room. You'll then need to eject the suspect from The Bridge, but if they're actually an Agent, you've just made the Impostors' job easier.

Agents can win by completing all of their assignments or voting out all of the Impostors, and Impostors can win by eliminating all of the agents.

If you've always wanted to play Among Us, but with more dance emotes, and less permission from the original developers, then now's the time: Fortnite Impostors is out today.

Stealing is bad, but what are your thoughts on Fortnite's less-than-original Impostors mode? Let us know in the comments.
