Fortnite Season 7 has been full of surprises and difficult challenges, but with Week 11 underway, there are plenty of new opportunities for players to earn XP and Battle Stars to help progress through the Season 7 Battle Pass. One of these opportunities comes in the form of a Week 11 Epic Quest where Fortnite players must use a Recon Scanner to spot either Infected Wildlife or a Trespasser. This short guide informs players on how best to complete this challenge to help them earn more XP and therefore make more progress through the Battle Pass.
How to Find the Recon Scanner
econ Scanners are special equipment pieces that were introduced in the Season 7 update of Fortnite. They can be found at the IO radar dish bases at seven locations around the Fortnite map. Thankfully, Fortnite introduced another Epic Quest where players must visit an IO radar dish base and interact with the equipment meaning players can complete two tasks in one. IO radar dish bases are easy to spot when falling from the Battle Bus at the start of a match as they are large satellite dishes with a red glow being emitted from the satellite's tip.

How to use the Fortnite Recon Scanner to spot Infected Wildlife or Trespasser
There are two methods available to complete this challenge, one slightly safer than the other. The safest method is to search for Infected Wildlife which can be found just outside an IO radar dish base if players get lucky with the Infected Wildlife spawns. If there is no Infected Wildlife outside the base, players will need to explore the map slightly more which may take some time to complete depending on the availability of Infected Wildlife in the surrounding area.
The second, and more dangerous method involves heading to the Holly Hatchery after finding a Recon Scanner to try and spot one of the Trespassers. Trespassers can be identified by their alien-type figure and they are found flying UFOs across the Fortnite map. The dangerous element of this method comes in the form of other players trying to complete the challenge in the same location as you as well as the Trespasser trying to kill you themselves.
However, if players successfully find a Trespasser, then they need to find a clear line of sight to the Trespasser target and fire the Recon Scanner from a distance. If successful, the Recon Scanner should spot the Trespasser, highlighting them red and earning players 30,000 XP for completing the challenge in the process.
