For a while now there have been bosses in Fortnite. If you haven't encountered any of the game's bosses yet, you're actually going to have to this week, since it's part of the challenges for week seven. This week there are several Alien Egg-related quests and also some fetch quests where you'll have to collect Records and Parenting Books. This is actually the only combat-related mission for the week.

Bosses are AI in the game that you can fight against. Usually, they're hostile and will shoot on sight. However, there have been cases where you can actually safely come up to them, talk to them and ask to duel them.
Riot is actually a hostile Fortnite boss so once he suspects there's someone around he will start looking and if he sees you, he will shoot on sight. This can be pretty tough so we've written this guide to give you a few pointers on how to defeat him.
Riot's Location In Fortnite
Now, where exactly can you find Riot? The map is pretty big and the NPCs are very well scattered through it. Riot hangs around the Yellow Steel Bridge landmark.
This landmark is on the southern half of the map. It is directly east of Misty Meadows. He is on the practice shooting range that you'll spot right before reaching the bridge, in front of a large truck.
If you take the road that goes through Misty Meadows and then you head eastward, you will find yourself at the bridge in no time. The place is fairly scarce when it comes to loot so keep this in mind if you want to land right near the bridge and try to fight Riot right away.
Alternatively, you can take this same road from Catty Corner and head west since they connect at the bridge.
Defeating Riot In Fortnite
Riot's location is not optimal for landing and simply fighting him right off the bat. But thankfully it's right in between two POIs, Misty Meadows and Catty Corner.
So, it's best to land at one of these locations, prepare yourself, get good loot and some shields before confronting Riot. Of course, there's a possibility that someone else will get there first and defeat before you get the chance to but it is much safer this way.
Near his location, there is a gas can that you can use to your advantage. You can throw it just like a grenade and then shoot at it from afar. The explosion will damage Riot and so will the fire that it causes. This is a safe way to cause a lot of damage in just a couple of seconds.
Successfully defeating him will complete the weekly quest.
Even if you've already done it or if you don't own the Battle Pass, it's always an advantage to defeat these powerful AIs because often they will drop a good weapon to reward you for your work.
Riot will drop an Epic rarity (purple) Heavy Assault Rifle once he's eliminated.
