Halo Infinite Fan Makes Awesome Custom Xbox Series X Design

Gamers have a long history of customizing their consoles and computers to showcase their preferred aesthetic or even which properties they're fans of, and it appears that fans of Halo Infinite are no exception. Now, one Halo Infinite fan has created a stunning custom Xbox Series X modeled after the game's Mk VI GEN3 Spartan-IV armor.

Redditor haeryism, also known as MKRD Customs on YouTube, has pieced together a Halo Infinite-themed fan custom that turns Master Chief's new armor into a striking custom console and controller. This isn't the first time Halo fans have created custom gear inspired by the franchise, but it may be one of the most intricate, as the console in question is both real and appears to actually work.

There are plenty of ways to acquire a custom Xbox Series X modeled after a specific franchise, but haeryism seems to have made theirs the old-fashioned way–by drafting out the individual plates they wanted to apply to the console, cutting them out, and adding detail. The result is a dark green Xbox covered in stark lines that resemble the armor definition of a Spartan supersoldier, complete with UNSC decals and the number 117 displayed proudly on the top right. They included a video of the customization process as well as a picture of the finished custom, so interested viewers can watch the whole process from start to finish.

In the video, they're shown using scoring, airbrushing, and a pattern transfer to ensure the custom looks exactly the way they want it to. These techniques are a little more advanced than what the Xbox Design Lab offers customizers, allowing for specific patterns and texturing to be added to the devices, but they require a lot of specific resources. Such an intricate design also demands a lot of time to pull off. Despite being sped up significantly, the video still clocks in at 18 minutes long.

As of writing, the Halo Infinite custom Xbox Series X unit and controller have been warmly received by Reddit. Several posters have expressed a desire to own a version, though one noted that it wouldn't fit with their living room's decor. A few users had to confirm that the custom was real, not just a piece of stunning concept art. Oher users displayed sadness upon realizing that while the custom was real, it wasn't being offered for purchase by Microsoft. They claimed they would have bought an Xbox Series X with such a detailed Master Chief design.

Halo Infinite is set to launch in 2021 on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
