Prepare yourself for a new, darker twist on the RTS genre that sees you trying to survive the horrors of the night, every night. During the day, you must scout the wilderness around you and attempt to reclaim the world, gathering resources all the while with which you'll build your town, recruit armies led by unique heroes, and strengthen your defences.
Come nightfall, the Veil will spill out untold horrors as up to 70,000 enemies spawn during a ‘Death Night’, which will test your defences and your strategic mettle to the max. Your heroes will eventually be slain, your armies defeated, and your settlement laid to ruin, but Age of Darkness: Final Stand is highly replayable by design. You will lose, you will learn, you will rise again, and you will eventually push back the darkness. Maybe.
Age of Darkness offers several ways for players to fight back against the horrors of the night. Powerful heroes can be recruited who have their own unique abilities, and can be levelled up to become stronger. An army skill tree also lets you customise your regular forces, offering multiple routes of progression for melee, ranged, and siege units.
