Throughout Hollow Knight, you’ll find adorable Grubs trapped inside glass jars. We're not sure why they all wound up in that predicament, but their patriarch, The Grubfather, will shower you with items and Geo for each Grub you free from their glass prisons.

Grubs are essentially Hollow Knight’s collectibles and they’re tucked away in the nooks and crannies of Hollownest. Finding every one of them can be a time-consuming process unless you manage to find the map that shows each of their locations. So to help you rescue these helpless critters, here’s a guide on how to find The Collector’s Map.
Getting Inside The Tower Of Love
The Collector is one of Hollow Knight’s several secret optional bosses. He’s an odd, shadowy figure that captures bugs for his creepy collection. As you might have guessed from the fact that he stores his captives inside glass jars, he’s the one responsible for imprisoning the Grubs.
To find The Collector, you first need to find The Tower Of Love, which is located between the City Of Tears and Kingdom’s Edge regions of the map. However, you need to find the appropriately named Love Key to get inside the tower. This can be found in the Queen’s Gardens at this spot:
You’ll know you’ve found the right spot if you see a small acid pool. Swim across this and after fighting some tough Mantis Traitors, you’ll reach the corpse of a large bug that has the Love Key.
Once you’ve got the Love Key, you can find the entrance to The Tower Of Love in Kingdom’s Edge at this spot on the map:
Unlock the gate and prepare to be weirded out.
Fighting The Collector And Obtaining The Collector’s Map
You’ll now be inside the padded sanctuary of The Collector. It’s a rather unnerving part of the game as you’ll hear creepy laughing and see bugs trapped inside glass jars. Head up the tower and The Collector will eventually show up and begin laughing hysterically.
The ensuing boss fight can be difficult, but it’s also pretty straightforward. The Collector’s main attacks involve jumping left and right while occasionally swiping at you. He’ll then leap up into the ceiling and begin dropping jars that contain additional enemies for you to kill. He's pretty fast, but if you avoid his attacks and the falling jars, you should be able to handle him. When he’s just about dead, he’ll stand still while hunched over and melting. Just whack him with your nail and he’ll dissolve into black ooze before letting out one final, disturbing bout of laughter.
Continue up the tower and you’ll find three trapped Grubs in the area above. To the left of them will be a desk with a shiny object on it. This is The Collector’s Map, which will display the locations of every undiscovered Grub in the game with a pin that has the face of a Grub. Now all that’s left to do is go find them and receive a ton of Geo as a reward.
