Right before the end of 2021, during one of Hamster’s Arcade Archives streams, Hori revealed a special “retro game controller” designed for old-school gaming and Arcade Archives titles.
So far they’ve come up with a bunch of concepts – including a modular one, which would allow plays to change the controller to suit their needs. While they haven’t proceeded with production just yet, they’re now encouraging fans to contact via email and share their own thoughts before 31st January 2021.
From there, if there’s enough interest, they’ll consider commercialising the product. The board itself could feature a stick, trackball, and dial to play games with. And presumably, it’s compatible with Nintendo Switch.
If you really want, you can probably fire off an email via Hori’s official Japanese website, or perhaps even a positive response on social media will suffice. So, what do you think of this controller? Would you use something like this for retro arcade gaming? Comment down below.
