Prey is a game that evolves and changes depending on player choices. It's one of the best survival horror games out there that gives you real power as a player, and as Morgan Yu, you can make sure the story takes a unique direction. A surprising number of your choices actually truly matter.

There's a total of three different types of endings, some with various sub-endings and details to them depending on the micro-choices you make after picking a path. However, on top of that, there's a post-credit scene that compiles all of your choices from the game to form a profile of your version of Morgan Yu, and also gives you a final choice for how the game ends.
Ending 1: Perdition
This is the ending the default storyline will take you to if you choose to follow January's instructions to the grave. It will have Morgan securing the two Arming Keys and blowing up the Power Plant of Talos I to destroy all humans and Typhons onboard. Once you activate the countdown for the explosion, however, there are a few ways you can proceed.
- Escape using Alex's escape pod
- Escape using Dahl's shuttle after incapacitating, not killing him
- Die like a hero inside Talos I
Ending 2: Alex's Escape Pod
There's a secret ending you can start working towards as soon as you're about to enter Psychotronics. You'll receive a quest called Who Is December?, which will guide you back to the Neuromod Division to investigate. This questline will eventually lead you to Alex's room and his offices, where you can find his escape pod key and access his shuttle as soon as you unlock Arboretum.

This isn't actually a proper ending, however. Once you escape, a black screen appears and a short voice recording can be heard. You'll be returned to your last save point and forced to play the rest of the game, so make sure to save before you take the shuttle.
Ending 3: A Mind Without Limits
When Alex provides you with his Arming Key, he suggests an alternate path to dealing with the Typhons, without actually destroying the entire station. This goes against January's advice but is a legitimate path nonetheless. Alex proposes to place a Prototype Nullwave Transmitter in the large chamber of Typhon Coral structure found in the Psychotronics where the Coral was first born.
This ending essentially ensures that the Typhons are incapacitated and their leader, the Apex, will be permanently destroyed. However, those on Talos I will still survive, including Morgan.
Post-Credit Ending
However you chose to end things, whether to destroy Talos I or destroy the Typhons, will affect your post-credit ending, which is the true ending of Prey. The revelation about Morgan's true nature is introduced in this part by the various characters you met during your journey. This is the part where the choices you made right from the start will affect the profile the characters have constructed of you.
