Korean Studio Shift Up Reveals Project Eve For PS5

Shift Up's Project Eve was officially revealed for consoles and PC back in 2019, but during today's PlayStation Showcase the Korea-based developer announced it would bring its action RPG to the new-gen with a PS5 release.

The game's studio is famous for mobile games, launching popular real-time battler Destiny Child way back in 2016. Project Eve will mark the studio's first title for consoles, but it boasts talent from other triple-A hits like Kim Hyung-Tae, who was an artist on Blade & Soul. Kim now leads the project as its director.

Project Eve's PS5 debut marked one of the longest looks at it yet, bringing flashy, intense action sequences against massive otherworldly monsters. The project is set in a future that's closer than you'd think, with visions of an Earth that's left in ruins and decay. Eve, your heroine, unleashes combos and aerial attacks that look a lot like action games you're used to, so let's go ahead and make the comparison and say soulslike—it's also quite pretty.

Eve's assault against creepy, grotesque foes and big machine baddies seems to sport plenty of variety. In the trailer, you see her gliding through the air, skating down steep terrain, and swapping up her looks. It's not clear just yet if the PS5 version means its previously announced console ports will also bring it to Xbox Series X/S.
