Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have released cinematic and character design trailers for third-person narrative action-adventure Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
As previously reported, Star-Lord and the Guardians are in debt and desperate. Play as Star-Lord, keep the Guardians from tearing each other apart, get rich, and tidy up the galaxy-wide mess they make. Call on your allies abilities, and make key decisions to settle your team’s arguments.
The new trailers include a cinematic trailer focused on Lady Hellbender. Daughter of a gambling father, he gave her pet to a gladiatorial arena and even bet against the hapless beast. Horrified, Hellbender began a galaxy-travelling quest to gather rare creatures.
The Guardians attempt to trick Hellbender with their offering of Groot, but Hellbender seems to have more interest in Drax. You can find the cinematic trailer below, and developer commentary.
The developers also released a Character Design Developer Diary, with Art Director Bruno Gauthier-Leblanc discussing how each of the Guardians’ designs have been adapted for the game, and how each design tells their story. From Star-Lords 80s design, to Groots additions added by Rocket.
You can find the Character Design trailer below.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy launches October 26th on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
