QuakeCon 2021

QuakeCon 2021 was loaded with a new version of the original Quake, Deathloop multiplayer, new content for Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online, new game modes for Doom Eternal, and the 10th anniversary of Skyrim.

The first day of QuakeCon 2021 was jam-packed with information and games. Bethesda unveiled a revamped version of the original Quake and hosted a series of panels with Bethesda developers who discussed what’s new and what’s coming up for their current titles.

Here at Game Freaks 365, we’ll give you a quick rundown of everything that happened on the first day of QuakeCon 2021.

Quake

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the debut of the dark fantasy first-person shooter, an upgraded version of the original Quake is now available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass for console and PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. As a free update, native Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions with 4K at 120 FPS will be available shortly.

This improved version of Quake includes both original expansion packs: “The Scourge of Armagon” and “Dissolution of Eternity,” as well as two MachineGames expansions: “Dimension of the Past” and the all-new “Dimension of the Machine.” The game also includes local split-screen co-op and online multiplayer for up to eight players with cross-platform play.

Deathloop

On their panel yesterday, the Arkane Lyon team gave a deeper look at Deathloop‘s multiplayer, detailing what it will be like to hop into a game as Julianna and pursue the player-controlled Colt. With new gameplay video and a deeper explanation of the numerous ways to play this immersive shooter, PS5 and PC gamers who are looking forward to this highly anticipated forthcoming release won’t want to miss out on this one.

Fallout 76

Fallout Worlds provides users with the means to construct their own player-created Custom Worlds, as well as unique adventures in Appalachia with rotating Public Worlds. In their panel, the BGS team explained what this implies, how it would work, and other topics. They also discussed Daily Ops Update II, Fallout 76‘s most recent expansion for Daily Ops, which includes Double Mutation events every other weekend, a new opponent group, three new locations, and new prizes.

The Elder Scrolls Online

Matt Firor and Rich Lambert brought fans inside The Elder Scrolls Online to discuss the game’s latest features, graphical enhancements, and updates. The dust has cleared after the events of The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood, but Mehrunes Dagon’s machinations continue in its wake.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame DLC will be released on August 23rd for PC/MAC and Stadia, and September 8th for consoles. During the Free Play Event, players may test out the game from now until August 30.

Doom Eternal

Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin of id Software updated fans on everything going on with Doom Eternal and the impending Update 6.66, including fresh information on Horde Mode, Battlemode improvements, and two new Master Levels. Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part Two, which will be released on August 26th, will also have a Nintendo Switch trailer.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The tenth anniversary of Skyrim is almost around the corner. For Skyrim’s 10th anniversary, a couple of the game’s creators got down together and exchanged memories and insider tales while seeing the game’s opening moments played live.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, which includes the full game as well as all three expansions – Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn – as well as all of the enhancements found in the Special Edition, was one of the most important announcements at QuakeCon 2021. The Anniversary Edition also includes over 500 unique Creation Club content items like quests, dungeons, monsters, weapons, spells, and more.

Without a doubt, we had an exciting first day at QuakeCon 2021. You can see all of the action from the event on Bethesda’s official Twitch account.
