Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Mass Effect Legendary Edition has received Update 1.03. This update is around 10 GB in size and is now being rolled out across all platforms.

The update addresses issues caused by wireless headsets on Xbox and enhances the performance of the game on PC. Plus, there are adjustments in each of the trilogy’s games. Keep reading to learn more about what to expect!

Update 1.03

For those who are unfamiliar with this collection, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remaster of the first three games in the Mass Effect series. Aside from improved graphics and textures, the remastered trilogy introduces new elements such as missions, objects, and easter eggs in each of its games.

EA announced via the Mass Effect official Twitter account the new Update 1.03.

General Changes

BioWare made some general changes to improve aspects and bugs that Mass Effect players were having previous to this new update. Now English spoken dialogue can be selected separately from subtitle language. They also resolved issues with unlocking some achievements/trophies, such as the Paramours or kill count trackers.
Some players commented that they were having issues with their wireless headsets. So BioWare fixed these problems. Now wireless headsets no longer cause issues with the Xbox launcher. So that’s welcome news.

Furthermore, they corrected pre-rendered cutscenes that were darker than intended after the previous update, fixed an issue on PC where non-standard characters in the operating system’s username would prevent the game from launching, and improved PC performance across various hardware configurations, including on Virmire.

In addition to these changes, the BioWare team made minor calibrations and fixes, including some instances of the game crashing.

Mass Effect Changes

The first installment in the trilogy was the one that had modifications and fixes in this update. Some of the biggest bugs that were changed were an issue that prevented players from reaching the max level; they also fixed an issue where tier VII Spectre – Master Gear was inaccessible.

They made various collision improvements and fixed an issue that would prevent the ability to interact with objects. These were some of the biggest changes in this game. Furthermore, they lowered audio volume on Mass Relay load screens and improved eye animations for male characters in some scenes.

Mass Effect 2 Changes

In Mass Effect 2, they toned down the intensity of fog on Illium and fixed an issue where a character’s eyes at the end of the Overlord DLC were unintentionally red.

They also reduced the max credits that can be carried from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 down to 100k for more balanced early-game progression. Credit carryover maximum now matches carryover from the original release.

Mass Effect 3 Changes

Of the three games in this Legendary Edition, Mass Effect 3 has had the least changes, perhaps because being the most recent of the titles that comprise the trilogy, it is already more polished.
BioWare resolved an issue where English dialogue no longer played during the Citadel DLC for German and Italian localizations and fixed an issue where some key characters weren’t appearing as intended during the Citadel DLC.
