After a minor delay, MultiVersus will exit its beta period in a few days, with its next playable character, Morty, to debut the week after.

Only last week, Player First Games announced that it had to delay the first season of content for its crossover fighter MultiVersus. It was originally meant to start earlier this week, but undisclosed reasons pushed it back.

Fortunately, it looks like whatever caused the delay wasn’t too severe as we not only have a new date for it, but it’s happening in just a few days on Monday, August 15.

That said, only the new battle pass will be available at first. The new arcade and online ranked modes, as well as other content, will be released over the course of Season 1.

This includes Morty of Rick And Morty fame, as the next playable character, although he’s already scheduled to arrive the following week on August 23.

We haven’t seen any gameplay of Morty yet, but don’t be surprised if we get a character trailer either before or on the day of his release.

Quick Note: Everything we are bringing to you in Season 1 will not drop on the same day. New modes and content will be spread through the life of the Season. We’ll continue to share dates on all the fun things to come!

His grandfather and co-star Rick, however, still lacks a release date, but the plan was always to include him after Morty.

Funnily enough, we already have a better idea of how Rick will play since hackers were able to find files for him in-game.

He’s clearly incomplete, considering he has no voice effects, but his moveset makes use of his portal gun to teleport himself and others around the stage. He can also transform opponents into small, big-headed versions of original character Reindog.

As for the battle pass, it’ll be much longer than the current one for the beta. Huynh previously revealed that it will have 50 tiers of content and cost about 950 Gleamium.

Gleamium is MultiVersus’ paid in-game currency, meaning you can only obtain it by spending real money. You can get 1,000 Gleamium for £7.99 so, while more expensive than the beta’s battle pass, Season 1’s will be somewhere in the ballpark of £7.

MultiVersus is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
