Naruto: Kakashi’s 10 Best Jutsus & Techniques

Kakashi Hatake is one of the most popular and beloved characters in the Naruto anime series. As the main character's mentor and an eventual Kohona Hokage, Kakashi also happens to be one of the most powerful ninjas in the series. A ninja's strength and skills are tied to their proclivity with Jutsus, whether that's Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or Genjutsu. As it happens, Kakashi knows a lot of them.

Because of Kakashi's Sharingan, he can copy the Jutsus and techniques of others with ease. This is why one of his monikers is "Copy Ninja Kakashi." Though Kakashi has a lot of Jutsus in his arsenal, he favors some of them more than others, and the fans also believe that these Jutsus are his most iconic.

One Thousand Years Of Death

The One Thousand Years of Death is more of a gag technique, but it is still one of Kakashi's most memorable ones. After its introduction in the fourth episode of the Naruto anime series, it blew fans away and left many hysterical.

Despite being treated more as a joke in the series, the technique is actually known to inflict severe pain. What's even more interesting is that Kakashi's father, Sakumo Hatake, has used the technique as well. Perhaps he passed it from father to son.

Rasengan

Kakashi's ability to use Rasengan is a testament to his Jutsu-copying prowess. Rasengan is said to be one of the hardest techniques to perform; yet, Kakashi was able to do it just by constantly observing it with his Sharingan.

Kakashi has never used Rasengan in combat throughout the show. However, it was a memorable moment for the character when he revealed to Naruto that he is able to perform the technique as well.

Summoning Technique

Like many ninjas in the Naruto series, Kakashi can also use Summoning Technique. In his case, he summons a pack of ninja dogs. While Kakashi never uses them in combat, they're incredibly helpful in tracking missions.

Unlike most summons, Kakashi's ninja dogs can communicate through human language, making interactions and strategizing with them more convenient. Most of his dogs have also developed affection towards other ninjas, such as Naruto and Sakura.

Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique

The Water Dragon Bullet technique is a complex Jutsu. To perform it, the ninja must perform 44 hand seals, the most required hand seals for one Jutsu. Kakashi was able to copy this technique directly from Zabuza and successfully used it against him.

This Jutsu is used by most Water Style users for its raw strength and effectiveness in combat. However, for a ninja to properly utilize this technique on the battlefield, they need to be incredibly skilled and quick in forming hand signs. Thankfully, it appears that Kakashi is.

Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall

The Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall technique is a go-to Jutsu for many Earth Style users. It is a powerful defensive Jutsu and users can also employ it to contain and incapacitate.

Kakashi has used this technique multiple times, but he specifically sought to improve upon it after he lost his Sharingan due to the death of Obito. He managed to improve upon this technique so much that he could eventually summon an Earth Wall to surround a small village, and leave it up for a whole day.

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique

The Fire Release: Great Fireball technique is a staple Jutsu for the Uchiha clan. The Uchiha clan considers the technique a coming-of-age ritual. An Uchiha isn't considered a true adult until they're able to perform the Great Fireball.

In the manga, only Uchihas are shown to perform this technique. In the anime, however, this technique is also used by other ninjas, like Kakashi. Kakashi's hand seals when performing the technique are different from the usual ones Uchichas use.

Sharingan

The Sharingan is a powerful Dojutsu that the Uchiha bloodline shares. Kakashi's Sharingan was implanted on him as a gift from Obito after when he fell during the Third Shinobi War.

Despite not being an Uchiha, Kakashi's use of the Sharingan is revered by many, including Sasuke and Itachi. The Sharingan is the root of many of Kakashi's abilities, and is also the reason why he can duplicate the techniques of others. Kakashi's Mangekyo Sharingan was awakened in response to Obito awakening his. After Obito truly passed away, Kakashi's Sharingan also dissipated.

Susanoo

Susanoo is the ultimate ability of the Mangekyo Sharingan. It is said to require massive amounts of chakra. The transformation of a user's Susanoo develops over time until they finally reach the ultimate version of the Jutsu, Complete Body — Susanoo.

Fans only ever see Kakashi using the Complete Body form of his Susanoo. He utilizes the technique to great effect when fighting Kaguya alongside his students. However, Kakashi was only able to use it when Obito's spirit inhabited him.

Kamui

The Kamui technique became one of Kakashi's staple Jutsus during the Shippuden series. He can only use the technique when he activates his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Kamui opens up a portal to another dimension. Kakashi uses this more as a defensive technique, sending attacks, projectiles, and any other forms of energy into the Kamui portal, rendering them ineffective. Eventually, Kakashi learned to use Kamui on himself, allowing him to teleport the same way Obito does.

Raikiri

Raikiri, also known as Lightning Blade, is one of Kakashi's favorite Jutsus. A technique he created himself, Raikiri is a very powerful offensive technique that pierces almost anything it touches. It is an advanced version of Chidori, another one of Kakashi's inventions, although their exact difference is unclear.

Like Chidori, Raikiri also relies on Sharingan for effective usage. Due to this reason, Kakashi couldn't use the technique anymore when he lost his Sharingan. As a result, he created the Lighting Release: Purple Electricity Jutsu, a variation of the technique that turned out to be considerably better than its predecessor.
