NBA 2K22 comes with everything to keep up with the good run of games in recent years. And because basketball video games and music are so interwoven, Visual Concepts has announced an exclusive auditory experience.
NBA 2K22, the next version of the top-rated and best-selling NBA video game simulation series, is introducing a new approach to its in-game soundtrack, which includes an all-new integration with seasons, as well as music from top artists such as Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Migos, Juice Wrld, Jack Harlow, and more.
First Fridays
Throughout the year, players can discover new music through “First Fridays,” in which new songs will be introduced to the soundtrack on the first Friday of each new season. Each update will include a combination of well-known and emerging artists to aid in music discovery and progression inside NBA 2K22. More information on what each season will feature will be released later in August.
Aspiring artists will have a chance to shine
This year also brings brand-new opportunities for budding musicians to be a part of the NBA 2K series soundtrack experience. The all-new Producer Series will incorporate a Beats Pack into the game, allowing the community to record and display their greatest verses over the beats.
“We’ve built NBA 2K to be one of the gold standards for video game soundtracks,” said David Kelley, Senior Manager, Partnerships & Licensing at 2K.
“This year, the opportunity to evolve the experience for players by creating moments where we can debut and share incredible new music is another step toward how we are bringing together the real-world of basketball culture with our game through music, not only through well-known artists, but also providing our players an opportunity to get in the game and showcase their own talents,” Kelley adds.
Beginning September 10, gamers will be able to listen to all the music available in-game at launch and beyond via the official NBA 2K22 playlist. Pre-orders are open now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
