New Pokemon Snap: Every Request In Barren Badlands (Day) & How To Complete Them

Found on Voluca Island, New Pokemon Snap's Barren Badlands course more than lives up to its name. Half of the course is drenched in blistering heat, while the rest is covered by a blanket of deadly toxic gas. Thankfully, the NEO-ONE protects players from these harsh conditions, but the inhospitable landscape does have a large bearing on the kinds of Pokemon that players will encounter.

Many of the Pokemon found in Badlands (Day) are poison-types, several of which are the subjects of their own LenTalk requests. There are five of these requests in total, though none of them will be available until players have reached research level 2 for the course. Thankfully, this can be achieved fairly quickly, although reaching research level 3 to unlock the last two requests is going to require a bit more effort.

Players will receive the Let's Play request from Rita once they reach research level 3 for the course. To complete it, they'll need to throw Fluffruit at the Diglett that's to the left of the NEO-ONE at the beginning of the course at research level 3. It will try to dodge the fruit, but, if enough are thrown, it will eventually take a hit and then tunnel underground in the same direction that the NEO-ONE is traveling.

Shortly afterward, players will see the Diglett surface near a rock to their left, but this time it's not alone. There's another Diglett opposite it, and if players hit them both with Illumina Orbs and then throw a Fluffruit near the one on the left, the pair will begin bouncing the Fluffruit to each other using their heads. A Rockruff will run over to watch, so players should be careful to make sure that one of the Diglett is the subject of the photo that they take and that both Diglett are in the shot.

If framed correctly, the resulting photo will be a four star shot, and turning it in will be enough to complete Rita's request. If players have time though, they should also grab a picture of the Rockruff while they're at it, as this is an easy way to get a three star shot of the little dog-like Pokemon. For a four star photo, however, players will need to wait until they reach the Badlands (Night) course.

Before players can unlock the A Brave Leap request, they'll first need to explore the course's alternate route. To do this, they'll need to illuminate the Crystabloom near the start of the course as quickly as possible so that the crash-landing Minior knocks down the boulder before the geyser erupts. This will allow players to scan the area in front of the boulder to switch to a route that takes them high above the default one.

After their run finishes, players will receive the request from Rita and can then return to the course to complete it. They'll again need to take the alternate route and should this time keep an eye out for a Tepig running along the archways. It will eventually reach a ledge and be too afraid to move, but if players perform a scan it will summon up the courage to jump. Moments later, it will come to an even larger gap and players will once again need to give it the push that it needs.

Frustratingly, players won't be able to get close enough to the Tepig until after the two fighting Scolipede have left. Once they do though, players will be able to look up and to their left and perform another scan to make the Tepig leap. To fulfill Rita's request, they'll simply need a shot of the Pokemon while it's in midair, which will be classed as a four star photograph.

Once players reach research level 2, a Salazzle will start showing up behind the rock with the Mandibuzz sitting on it to the right of the player's starting position. They'll be able to tempt it out with some Fluffruit though, and snapping a picture of it will lead to Todd requesting a shot of the Pokemon's special pose after it finishes dancing.

In order to get the photo needed to fulfill the An Alluring Pose request, players should again tempt the Salazzle out of its hiding place using a Fluffruit. This time, however, they should use the Melody Player after it emerges, which will make the Pokemon start to dance. After it finishes, players can snap a four star photo of its celebratory pose for Todd.

Though the request can be completed at either research level 2 or research level 3, players should keep in mind that they won't be able to get the shot that they need at research level 3 if they wake up the sleeping Zeraora. Doing so will cause the Salazzle to run away, although this does give players a chance to get a picture of it on a ledge in the area with the poisonous gas.

Players will receive the Gigantic Koffing request from Phil after they reach research level 3 in Badlands (Day). To complete it, they'll need to lure a Koffing over to a Crystabloom and then hit the flower with Illumina Orbs to make the Koffing expand in size. Unfortunately, this is a lot easier said than done.

The Koffing in question is way off in the distance to the player's left as they enter the area with the poisonous gas. They'll need to start throwing their Fluffruit as early as possible and aim to have them fall in a line leading directly towards the nearby Crystabloom. If done correctly, the ones at the back of the line will disappear before Koffing has a chance to eat them, ensuring that it keeps moving in the desired direction.

Once the Koffing is close enough to the Crystabloom, players should throw an Illumina Orb at the flower to make it light up. This will cause the Koffing to swell up to several times its normal size and it is at this moment that players will need to take a photograph of it. The resulting photo will be classed as a four star shot and, as it turns out, is exactly what Phil was hoping for.

Players won't be able to tackle the Open Wide! request until they have reached research level 2 and taken a photo of the Salazzle on top of the giant gas tower at the beginning of the poisonous gas area. It doesn't matter if this is taken from the default route or the alternate one, although it's a lot easier to see from the latter.

After receiving the request from Rita, players should return to the area with the Salazzle. This time, however, rather than taking a photo of it, they should instead hit it with a Fluffruit. This will cause it to head inside the gas tower and hurl out a rather large Koffing, which will float gracefully down into a pool of toxic slime below. Moments later, Swalot will attempt to eat the Koffing, though it will end up getting stuck squarely in its mouth.

When this happens, players will have a few seconds to get a four star shot of Swalot with its mouth full, which will be enough to fulfill Rita's request. It doesn't matter which route the photo is taken from, nor does it matter if players are exploring the course on research level 2 or research level 3. As long as Swalot is the subject of the photograph and the Koffing is visible, Rita will be happy.
