The King's Man is finally approaching theatres, and a new red-band trailer teases some of the series' best action that should keep the excitement rolling.
The prequel/spin-off to 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle has been delayed countless times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as it was originally supposed to release in theatres all the way back in November of 2019. After numerous teasers and trailers have already teased the epic scope of the film, a new red band trailer takes the exhilarating action to another level, presenting the brutal fight scenes and large-scale sets in all of its glory.

The King's Man takes place in the early 1900s and depicts the formation of the spy agency, with stars Ralph Fiennes as Orlando Oxford, Duke of Oxford, and Harris Dickinson as Conrad. The two race against time to stop the gathering of tyrants and criminal masterminds who plot to start a war that will take out millions. The red band trailer reveals some of the characters' interactions, but mostly teases the gory violence that awaits.
The Kingsman films have always been known for their over-the-top, bonkers violence in contrast to the more grounded violence in the Bond franchise. While this new King's Man trailer gives a little more context into what this spy agency is and how it works independently, focusing on Fiennes' and Dickinson's characters recruiting new members, the real standout is the violence with a 1900s twist. This red band trailer doesn't hold back. From characters jumping out of planes and fighting on mountaintops, to wars being fought on the battlefield and heads being sliced off, it's evident that The King's Man has upped the insanity, and that should live up to fans' gory expectations while still delivering something fresh in this different time period.
Director Matthew Vaughn, who has helmed all of the Kingsman films so far, originally planned to shoot The King's Man back-to-back with the original series' 3rd film (Eggsy and Harry Hart), but the pandemic put a halt to things. The original series' 3rd entry, which currently goes by the title Kingsman: The Blue Blood, is still early in development.
The King's Man cast also includes Rhys Ifans as Grigori Rasputin, Gemma Arterton as Polly, Djimon Hounsou as Shola, Matthew Goode as Captain Morton/The Shepherd, Daniel Brühl as Erik Jan Hanussen, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Lee Unwin.
The King's Man will finally be released in theatres on December 22, 2021.
