You earn an Amrine Tuning Orb through the main questline, but if you fail the Orb is lost forever. You will need another Orb to try the Expedition again, or to repeat the Expedition to get more loot. This guide covers how to get Corrupted Silver, as well as how to craft the Tuning Orb. This information is correct as of the Closed Beta of New World and is subject to change when the game releases in September.

What Is The Amrine Tuning Orb And How Do You Get It?

The Amrine Tuning Orb is the item you need to get into the Amrine Excavation Expedition, New World's first dungeon. You can check out our Amrine Excavation guide here. The Orb is basically a key. Only one player needs the Orb, and you receive an Orb via completing the main storyline quest as you hunt for the Azoth Staff.

How To Craft The Amrine Tuning Orb

Because the Amrine Tuning Orb is used up whenever you attempt the Expedition, you may need to craft a new Orb. For this you will need:

  • One Iron Chisel
  • 50 Stone Blocks
  • 10 Corrupted Silver
  • One Eternal Heart

The Amrine Tuning Orb is crafted at a Stonecutting Table Tier 3. You also need to be at least Stonecutting level 25.

All of these separate crafting components do need a little effort on your end. The chisel, for example, must be purchased from your faction's representative in a settlement. It costs 100 Gold and 500 Faction Tokens. The Eternal Heart is crafted at a Stonecutting table and requires 50 Soul, Life, and Death Motes.

You will also need 10 Corrupted Silver. Here's how to get it.

How To Get Corrupted Silver In New World

Corrupted Silver is earned through completing Corrupted Events, also known as Monolith Breaches. These are random PvE World Events that are best completed with a small team of players around level 20-25, which is about the right level for the Amrine Excavation.

Corrupted Portals are opened on the map and you can hunt them down. Once defeated, you will earn a cache of loot, and Corrupted Silver is only found within the Major Breach Caches. These chests contain all sorts of different loot at specific levels, varying from Potions and Armor to weapons and other materials.

  • Corrupted Portals require a small team of players, around 4-5.
  • The events can occur at different required levels, and you can complete them for other loot, not just Corrupted Silver.
  • You need at least a Tier 1 Azoth Staff to be able to access the events.
