Right now, the wait is on for the next entry in the Zelda series, the much anticipated and as of now untitled sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We know next to nothing about that the game at this point, and it almost certainly will not release this year by the look of things. Well, in the meantime, another curious thing has popped up about the franchise that could point to another classic entry.

As noted by Twitter user Kelios, a new trademark has been registered by Nintendo for their classic game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While something like this is usually not noteworthy, it is curious to note that this is not a renewal, but seems to be an entirely different trademark.

What does that mean? Well, it could mean nothing as trademarks are often registered and renewed pretty frequently with no real plans in the work. If you want to be an optimistic person, it could point to the game being potentially inbound for the Switch relatively soon.

The game received a well-received remake on the 3DS (as well as it’s sequel, Majora’s Mask), so it’s not outside the realm of possibly that game could be ported over to the Switch. Wouldn’t be too bad a plan in what looks to be a long wait for the Breath of the Wild sequel, so fingers crossed this means something and isn’t just a random filing.
