Metroid Dread has a ton of hype surrounding it ever since it was revealed at this past year’s E3. The first new narrative in a 2D Metroid game in 19 years, Dread represents the fourth installment in the overarching storyline and an end to the dynamic between Samus and the nominal Metroids. Needless to say, there are quite a few mysteries surrounding the story line of dread… so why not add a bit more intrigue in the form of a 30-second teaser trailer?
It’s not a lot of footage but what’s there is certainly tantalizing. For starters, we get a look at Samus’s new Gunship. There are also appearances by what seems to be the Chozo, as well as some mysterious combatants facing them, and at the end, a surge of pink power coursing through Samus. What could it all mean? Well, we’ll all find out come October, apparently! In the interim, sound off with your theories down below.
