Nintendo has revealed a new OLED Switch model. The new model has the versatility of the Switch and includes a new 7-inch OLED display, an adjustable wide stand, a LAN port on the TV dock, and other features.
The Japanese company has confirmed the arrival of a new model of its hybrid console, which will be available on October 8: the Nintendo Switch OLED Model.
The 7-inch OLED screen, which makes greater use of the console’s surface without expanding its size, is the version’s main selling point. The back support tab also transforms into an adjustable broad stand, providing the tabletop mode a new dimension and making it considerably more sturdy and adaptable.
LAN
Another modification in this model is the addition of a LAN connection, which allows the console to be directly connected to the network without any peripherals. This is something that hardcore Switch fans have been requesting from Nintendo, as they had to connect certain peripherals to the console via the type C port, which, in addition to taking up a lot of space and becoming uncomfortable to use, caused connection stability issues with several Switch titles.
Internal storage
The internal storage capacity is increased to 64 GB, which is double that of the existing Nintendo Switch model. It also has better sound through speakers with tuned acoustics and a brightness sensor to regulate the screen’s brightness.
Compatability
Nintendo says that the Nintendo Switch OLED Model will be fully compatible with the current model. The existing Switch will be able to connect to the OLED dock and vice versa. Because the Joy-Con controllers are the same model, they will be compatible as well.
Tegra processor
According to Nintendo, the upgraded NVIDIA Tegra processor will increase gaming performance by delivering 1920×1080 resolution games with steady 60fps, which will improve the gaming experience in all titles published to date. However, this is only relevant while the console is in dock mode.
Color options
There will be two options: white and neon red/neon blue.

- Battery life of between 4.5 and 9 hours.
