"Not Everything Is A Clue" Says Mortal Kombat Creator Ed Boon

Ed Boon has responded to fans claiming that his Twitter posts are teases for upcoming projects from NetherRealm, saying "not everything is a klue".

The topics came up after a fan told Ed Boon that he didn't know which of his Tweets were teases, and which of them were just that, Tweets. The speculation began simply because Boon started a poll asking his followers which of the Street Fighter games they preferred.

In response to the fan asking whether it was a hint towards a future game, Ed Boon said, "Not every tweet is a klue to something we are doing. Hopefully that helps".

This followed on from an earlier thread where Ed Boon discussed how it's not so easy to make games because fans request it. After posting a piece of fan-art for Mortal Kombat x Street Fighter, Ed was asked why the project had never happened, to which he replied, "2 different publishers adds complexity. It's not as simple as "people want it, so do it".

Ed Boon has been known as a bit of a Twitter troll when it comes to teasing announcements and news about his games, such as constantly making references to Rain in Mortal Kombat, but it seems like even he has his limits and doesn't want all of his Tweets to be analysed.

It's not too surprising to imagine that Ed Boon might be a little bit sick of teasing, considering that everything he says is taken as a tease for a NetherRealm game. All of the replies on Ed's Tweets tend to be related to fans either asking for a third Kombat Pack, lamenting him for stopping development on Mortal Kombat 11, or asking for Injustice 3 news. The most recent rumours surrounding the developer started after Ed Boon Tweeted about the possibility of a Marvel fighting game, which was then taken as a hint that it might be happening.
