Team GO Rocket is very much still on the prowl in Pokemon GO in both balloons and at PokeStops. Players are also still able to challenge both the criminal team's various grunts and leaders in order to rescue Shadow Pokemon and earn helpful items.
One of the Team GO Rocket leaders that Pokemon GO players might encounter is Arlo. Like other trainer battles, he uses a team of three Pokemon that need to be taken down in order to beat him. He, however, is more powerful than any GO Rocket grunt players might find out in the open.

While Arlo uses only three Pokemon in the battle, his exact team composition can't be known by players that challenge him until the battle actually happens. This is because Arlo has a choice between three different Pokemon for his second team member and three more different Pokemon for his third team member. The only way to know what he chooses is to challenge him, make a note of what he uses, lose the battle, then battle Arlo again in the same encounter.
Arlo's First Pokemon – Venonat
Unlike the rest of Arlo's team, his first Pokemon will always be the same: Venonat. This Pokemon is a dual Bug and Poison-type, making it weak to Flying, Rock, Fire, and Psychic-type moves. It meanwhile resists damage from Poison, Bug, Fairy, Fighting, and Grass-type moves.
Venonat is Arlo's weakest Pokemon, making it easy to get through quickly. Its weak stats additionally make it a good target for charge moves in order to make Arlo waste his Protect Shields early. If players want to get rid of Venonat quickly though, the best counters for it are:
