Pokemon Presents Announced For Next Week

A Pokemon Presents will be taking place next week featuring new information about the upcoming Diamond and Pearl remakes as well as Legends Arceus.

2021 has been a huge year for Pokemon so far. Songs by famous people, new trading cards, not to mention the slew of games being released on multiple platforms. All to celebrate the franchise turning 25. The best may still be yet to come too. While we've already had New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite this year, Diamond and Pearl remakes will be here in the fall, and Legends Arceus will follow in early 2022.

The Pokemon Company hinted that new information on Arceus would be coming soon. Now it has revealed exactly when that new info is coming, and you don't have long to wait. A Pokmeon Presents, Pokemon's answer to a Nintendo Direct, will be taking place next Wednesday, August 18, at 9 am EST.

The announcement promises news about all three of Pokemon's upcoming titles but doesn't reveal any information beyond that. It's difficult to predict what else will be revealed about Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Beyond the announcement that the remakes are real, as many fans hoped for a while, and when they will launch, which has also been revealed, there's not a lot more to know.

The stream will likely feature new footage, of course, and perhaps even news on some tweaked mechanics. What many really want to know is if the game will use the Pokedex from Pokemon Platinum. That seems likely, but could be confirmed next week. Arceus is the game Pokemon has revealed very little about so far, and will hopefully take center stage during next week's Pokemon Presents.

Arceus will be an open-world Pokemon game set in the Sinnoh region, long before you head there for Diamond and Pearl. The little footage Game Freak has shown off so far really didn't reveal much. Just a few of the Pokemon that will be included and some shots of wide-open countryside. Here's hoping the bulk of next week's Pokemon Presents shows off exactly why Arceus could be an important next step for Pokemon games as a whole.
