Pokemon Unite Slowbro Build Guide

Slowbro is an excellent Defender in Pokemon Unite who is easy to pick up and effective in every tier. While it's approachable, though, there are certain key details that separate good Slowbro players from great ones.

As a Defender, Slowbro's main job is to protect the scoring zones on your side of the field. This doesn't mean you're not part of Unite's frenetic action though – if anything, Defenders often get caught up in the most chaotic bouts of combat in a match.

If you're looking for actionable advice on how to play Slowbro in Pokemon Unite, you're in the right place. Here's our guide on the best Slowbro build for Pokemon Unite, including details of the best moves, items, and strategies for Slowbro.

Pokemon Unite Slowbro Build Guide: Best Moves

At the beginning of a match with Slowpoke, be sure to choose Water Gun over Slack Off. The lanes are filled with weak minions at the start, meaning a recovery move like Slack Off has little value, whereas Water Gun's damage makes leveling up significantly faster. After evolving into Slowbro, be sure to choose Surf over Scald, as it doubles a mobility move as well as a high-damage crowd control technique.

We recommend taking Telekinesis over Amnesia for the second upgraded move. Amnesia is decent too, and if it works for you that's totally cool – Telekinesis allows you to completely destabilize enemy Attackers though, allowing your team to get a bunch of free hits in. Slowbro's Unite move is Slow Beam and functions as a sort of Surf/Telekinesis hybrid.

Pokemon Unite Slowbro Build Guide: Best Items

As a Defender, Slowbro's viability is directly tied to its bulk. For this reason, we'd recommend giving it Leftovers, an Aeos Cookie, and either a Shell Bell or Rocky Helmet for its three held items. This increases its ability to sustain itself in team fights, which could make or break an entire game depending on how competent your teammates are.

For your battle item, it's probably best to go with either X Attack or the Eject Button, depending on whether you play aggressively or find yourself having to retreat a lot, respectively.

Pokemon Unite Slowbro Build Guide: Best Playstyle

Slowbro's playstyle is… well, slow. Unlike Attackers and Junglers, it's not your job to scour the map in search of lone, low-health enemies. While you still have a duty to score where possible, your primary task is to prevent the enemy team from scoring in your zones.

The main thing to remember is that Slowbro should never go to the jungle unless it's to fight Zapdos. Outside of that, Slowbro should always be in the top or bottom lane with an Attacker or All-Rounder, using its bulk to give your side an edge in a war of attrition. Your job is to move enemies with Surf and stun them with Telekinesis, making it much easier for your teammates to get their heavy hitting abilities in.
