PS Plus August Line Up Includes Plants Vs. Zombies, Hunter’s Arena, And Tennis World Tour 2

PlayStation is gearing up for August with a new PlayStation Plus line-up. Next month's games include Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville and Tennis World Tour 2 on PS4, and the new Hunter's Arena: Legends for PS5.

Just last week, the games for August's PS Plus library leaked, and it looks like that big oops from Sony went unchanged, as all three titles are the ones we got today. In fairness, we did already know about Hunter's Arena: Legends from the State of Play earlier in the month, so the surprise was really only ruined for the PS4 titles.

Hunter's Arena: Legends has already been out on PC since last year, but the game heads to Sony's platforms on August 3. We saw a peek at the game earlier this month, where developer Mantisco showed off its 30-person battle royale and how you'll play on PS4 and PS5. If you're worried about learning the ropes before diving in, Hunter's Arena isn't only a massive PVP hellscape, you can also take your time to run through ancient ruins and slay a few demons. It'll give you the chance to learn and beef your character up before diving in.

And while it seems some folks aren't too pumped on Sony's lineup for August, our very own Sam Watanuki had a pretty good time with Tennis World Tour 2. Sam called it the "most authentic tennis experience out there," but he also warned that it may be quite challenging to jump into if you're a series newcomer.

We also got our hands on the newest Plants Vs. Zombies entry, Battle for Neighborville. TheGamer's Jamie Latour played the game on the Switch, and while he found the animations charming, he noted there wasn't much that "new or exciting to the shooter genre."

If you're unhappy with this month's PS Plus lineup, then perhaps Game Pass is a solution. Microsoft just announced Windows 11 will have a "built-in" Xbox App, and the mobile support for the service continues to improve. If you're interested in making the leap, but don't want to invest, Krispy Kreme is even giving away the subscription service now, free with an Xbox doughnut.
