Sony has recently announced a new update coming to the PS5 console, with some players able to check out an early beta for the new features being introduced. Among these new features are several that should make hunting down PlayStation trophies a bit easier for those that really get into the unlockable awards.
This update also comes with several other features outside of Trophy Hunting, including new ease of access features for finding installed games in the library, as well as compatibility between the PS5 and M.2 SSD expanded storage. Altogether, this latest update offers an impressive array of enhancements to better streamline the system’s UI and customization.

The changes coming that should impress Trophy Hunters include a new vertical display for trophies and the ability to tag up to three trophies per game in order to track their progress. The new vertical display lets players see more information on each trophy without having to select them individually and more easily cycle through the available tasks. This can make finding and completing trophies on PS5 while playing much easier thanks to the more streamlined view and quick access to the necessary information.
As for the tracking changes, being able to tag multiple trophies means that Trophy Hunters can now track and hunt down multiple tasks at once with the help of the PS5 following along, instead of having to go one at a time. It’s a small change that goes a long way towards easing out the process of what can sometimes be a weeks-long adventure of hunting down PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies. Combining this with the new vertical display and at least one part of hunting down some of Sony’s toughest trophies is made easier as players have better access to the information they need.
Considering the increased drive to jump into games and earn Achievements and Trophies, this type of quality-of-life update can be a huge boon for players looking to either grab their first Platinum or their hundredth. With how many Trophies that are available on PS5’s games the hunt for these in-game milestones has become a huge draw for keeping a lot of titles interesting well after the end credits. So, making access to this additional content through the system’s UI easier can go along way to making PlayStation the best console to hunt down these types of extra awards on.
