Quake Remastered Is Now Available on All Platforms

We Heard Rumblings

Last week, a schedule of QuakeCon 2021 was released and accidentally let slip a mention of a “revitalized edition” of Quake. It was quickly taken down, but that’s all we needed to see. The con begins today in a virtual event and lo and behold, a remastered version of Quake has been released on major platforms.

Quake Remastered

Right now, the original Quake is out on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Nintendo Switch with 4K (1080p for Switch) and widescreen support. The game includes the two original expansions “The Scourge of Armagon” and “Dissolution of Eternity”, as well as the two newer expansions “Dimension of the Past” and the brand new “Dimension of the Machine.”

Quake also supports mods, both fan-made and official, as well as additional missions, like Quake 64. You and your friends can also play co-op multiplayer. Quake supports split-screen and online, as well as through crossplay. Even the PlayStation version has crossplay!

There is also some additional good news for players of (almost) each platform. PC users who have Quake on Steam can get the remastered upgrade for free, the game is available on PS4, but a PS5 version will be available soon, and Xbox Game Pass owners can play Quake on PC, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S.

There are also QuakeCon sales going on for pretty much all the major retailers, so other Bethesda titles including Fallout, Wolfenstein, and Doom are all on sale for major savings. Quake is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with a PS5 version on the way.
