Raven Software is “Hiring Like Crazy” to Support Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty WarzoneCall of Duty: Warzone has over 100 million players, so it’s safe to say that the game is doing well. It’s also growing at an incredible rate, because that number was 85 million in December.

To try and cope with the sheer demand, Raven Software – who has worked on every major Call of Duty title since 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops – has begun hiring as many additional staff as it can over the past year, and it doesn’t look like they’re slowing down any time soon.

“I can tell you we’ve been hiring like crazy at Raven,” creative director Amos Hodge told VGC in a Warzone interview discussing the launch of Season 3. “We have jobs posted all over the place and we’re looking for new talent. If any of your readers out there are interested… we have more ideas than we can do!”

Warzone was a smash hit success,” Hodge said. “All the studios are helping on it, but it’s also additional to our normal Call of Duty schedule. We have a normal Call of Duty schedule and this is on top of that, so we’ve had to grow really fast.”

In the interview, Hodge also said that Raven shares fans’ frustration with cheating in Warzone, which has dogged the title since it launched. “We put our hearts into this content, we have 100 million players, it’s been out a year, this is a huge stage and some of the best work we’ve ever done, and to have cheaters come in and ruin the game bothers us more than anyone,” Hodge said.

Hodge had more to say about everything from keeping up with the game’s meta to the dominance of the DMR, so it’s an interview worth reading. But the bottom line seems to be this: Warzone is growing very quickly, Raven is dedicated to making it the best it can be, and hey, if you’ve ever wanted to work on Call of Duty, they’re hiring.
