SEGA Offers A New Look At Changes And Enhancements In Sonic Colors: Ultimate

Sonic Colors: Ultimate launches on September 7 for Nintendo Switch. September is closer than one might think; in the words of my father, once the fourth of July comes and goes, it’s Christmas before you know it! Thus, it will feel like the blink of an eye by the time Sonic Colors: Ultimate releases. To make sure fans are ready, SEGA has released the following informational video. In it, all of Sonic Colors: Ultimate’s various tweaks and additions are shown off. Give it a watch:

Here are the important bits that the trailer breaks down:

  • Enhanced visuals running at 60fps. Note that the Switch version of the game does not seem to have the same claim of being able to hit this performance benchmark all of the time.
  • Rival Rush mode, where you race Metal Sonic on a variety of courses to earn rewards.
  • Controller customization options
  • Tails Save feature that will see Sonic’s pal retrieve players when they falls.
  • temporary invincibility after collecting 100 rings.
  • A remixed soundtrack.
  • Park Tokens for customization of Sonic’s gear and looks.
  • New Jade Ghost Wisp that allows Sonic to go intangible and flit through walls and find secrets.

All of this sounds like it has the makings to provide an even better version of Sonic Colors, and that game was already one of the best Blue Blur experiences to have come out in many years. Sonic Colors: Ultimate is shaping up to be a can’t-miss Switch game. Will you be buying it this fall? Tell us down below!
