Stray has been a knockout for gamers and reviewers alike. Something about playing as a cat exploring this mysterious world really has fans hooked, which is why it should come to no surprise that Stray is now the best user-reviewed game on Steam for the year 2022.
According to Steam250, a website that aggregates Steam reviews from positive and negative, giving them a numerical score. With this system, Stray has become the highest rated game on Steam250 with a score of 8.61 beating out God of War which has an 8.56 score.
The further breakdown of these scores sits at the following: the game has a total of 42,307 reviews on Steam and out of that 41,353 (97.7%) are positive compared to only 954 (2.3%) being negative. Stray has certainly shown that it is popular amongst fans and critics, but one has to wonder what the long term opinion of the game will down the line.
Still it’s worth considering the game has dethroned God of War, which has stood at the top of the list since the game’s launch in January is no small feat. The game’s developer, BlueTwelve Studio, should be proud.
