The hand-drawn video game The Last Survey, created by Nicholas O’Brien, is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

After they confirmed the release date of Boreal Tenebrae for Nintendo Switch, Red Deer Games brings another unique story-driven experience. The Polish studio, in conjunction with solo indie developer Nicholas O’Brien, are going to release The Last Survey on the Switch later this year. O’Brien is a brilliant Brooklyn-based artist whose work ranges from essays in the form of video games, to digital animations, short tales, and sound installations.

What’s it about?

In the Last Survey, you play the role of an expert hired by a large corporation. After a year of investigation, you’ve found something very concerning for the future of the entire world. It is your responsibility to give the terrible news.

Good decisions are crucial in Nicholas O’Brien’s game. Make critical decisions to direct the discourse toward progressive action, pushing your boss to rethink the implications of his actions.

The Last Survey

The game is distinguished by its distinctive graphic style, which was developed using hand-drawn digital, graphite, and charcoal drawings. The Last Survey consists of a series of live experimental performances in which the audience votes on which dialog option to choose.

Lewis Kopenhafer’s outstanding soundtrack only adds to the experience. Music composers Big Dog Little Dog perform live music in response to the current circumstance in-game.
