Syberia: The World Before will officially launch in 2021, publisher Microids has confirmed.
The Syberia sequel will be coming to PC first on December 10, 2021. A console version is also in development but doesn’t have a firm release date, Microids stating that it will launch sometime next year.
We don’t know which systems Syberia: The World Before will be available on though a multi-platform release on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch seems likely. The game will feature two protagonists as you switch between time periods to piece together the Syberia saga’s newest mystery:
Vaghen, 1937: Dana Roze is a 17-year-old girl, who is beginning a brilliant career as a pianist. However, shadows begin to appear over her future as the fascist threat of the Brown Shadow hangs over Europe, at the dawn of the Second World War.
Taiga, 2004: Kate Walker survives as best she can in the salt mine where she has been imprisoned, when a tragic event propels her into a new adventure in search of her identity.
- Set of on an adventure across continents and through time. Play as both Kate Walker and Dana Roze as you get to the bottom of mysteries that have remained buried for too long.

It’s been almost two decades since the original Syberia launched on PC. Despite never being a huge critical or commercial success, there’s been enough of a cult following to keep the adventure series going.
The most recent game – Syberia 3 – had been long awaited by fans. While it allowed us to continue Kate Walker’s adventure many years later, it failed to evolve the Syberia formula at a time when other games were pushing to modernise the genre.
