iPhone 14 Series Models Differentiation
As a usual practice, Apple will update iPhones in September with iPhone 14 Series. According to the report, this time Apple will use new naming for iPhone 14 Series models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said through Twitter, according to Apple’s iPhone naming rules, the four new iPhones in the second half of this year may be iPhone 14 with 6.1 inches, iPhone 14 Max with 6.7 inches, iPhone 14 Pro with 6.1 inches, and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be with 6.7 inches.
According to Ross Young, the iPhone 14 Pro model will have both around and pill-shaped punch holes near the top of the display, forming a unique new shape. The round hole will house the Face ID sensor, while the pill-shaped hole is expected to house at least the front-facing camera and the Face ID IR camera.
In addition to the usual difference in memory, processor models, iPhone 14 versions this time is to make the most of configuration differentiation. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the iPhone 14’s processor may be differentiated, with the Pro version using the Apple A16 Bionic chip and the standard version using the A15 Bionic. Previously iPhones used the same A-series processor with different specifications.
Furthermore, Ming-Chi Kuo said that all iPhone 14 Series models this year will come with 6GB of RAM, with the Pro version using LPDDR5 and the standard version using LPDDR 4X, giving faster data transfer speeds more energy efficiency to pro models.
