Update (Mon 2nd May, 2022): Looks like it was too good to be true! Both Braid and Joe Danger 2: The Movie have returned to full price on the Xbox Store, suggesting they weren’t intended to be free in the first place.
Cloning Clyde is still free at the time of writing, but we’ll keep an eye out and see if that changes soon.
Original story (Sun 1st May, 2022): Fancy some free games? Of course you do! For some reason, Microsoft has decided to give us more Games with Gold than have been officially announced, with three games unexpectedly included with the program at the moment.
All of the games are Xbox 360 titles – we’ve got the side-scrolling platformer Cloning Clyde, classic puzzle-platformer Braid, and the self-proclaimed “death-defying thrill-ride” Joe Danger 2: The Movie, all FREE right now!
These three games may not be available to claim in all regions, but we’ve verified that they’re free with Games with Gold in at least the UK and the US (at the time of writing), so we’re presuming their availability is pretty widespread.
Don’t forget that the first official batch of May 2022’s Xbox Games with Gold is also now available, which includes the fantastic metrodvania and pinball mashup Yoku’s Island Express and classic racer Hydro Thunder Hurricane.
