Watch Dogs: Legion Multiplayer Update Delayed to Early 2021

Ubisoft has announced that the multiplayer update for Watch Dogs: Legion, dubbed Watch Dogs Online, has been delayed to early 2021. The online mode was slated to arrive on December 3rd. However, due to lingering issues (like that nasty progression-wiping bug on Xbox Series X/S), the development team has decided to delay it.

“As part of our commitment to fixing the game’s issues, we’ve decided to delay the Online mode of Watch Dogs: Legion to early 2021. This will allow us to focus on fixing issues with single player, and it will give us more time to test the online experience to help ensure a smooth launch of the mode.”

In the meantime, players across Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PC, Xbox One and Google Stadia can look forward to update 2.20 this week. This adds a manual “Save Game” feature for PC players along with fixes for crashes on consoles. PS5 players already have the update so they should be good for the time being.

It’s probably for the best that Watch Dogs Online was delayed given the sheer amount of content it will bring to the game. Four player online co-op is being added with its own unique missions, dynamic events and Tactical Ops. PvP is also coming with Spider-Bot Arena allowing up to eight players to battle it out in Spider-Bots. Stay tuned for more details on a new release date in the coming months.
